Offline check-in: how our agents scan 500 tickets in 20 minutes
On the outskirts of Kigali, as in most event venues, network coverage is not always reliable. EyaTickets designed its access control to work entirely offline.
A bundle downloaded before the event
Before the doors open, each scanning agent downloads a bundle containing all valid tickets for the event. No connection is needed after that to scan.
A signed QR code, verified locally
Each ticket carries a cryptographic signature (HMAC-SHA256) verified directly on the agent’s device, with no network call. A screenshot or photocopy is detected and rejected at scanning.
Automatic synchronization
Scans made offline are stored locally and then synchronized automatically as soon as the connection returns — no manual action required from agents.
In the field
At events with several hundred attendees in Kigali, this approach has allowed a team of just a few agents to process entry in under one second per ticket, without depending on the quality of the local network.
Agent guide
- Download the event bundle before the doors open
- Log in with your agent account and the event assigned to you
